The only problem that I have with this tournament is that Pete Tanguay is involved with it. People say that he hangs around the tennis crowd to mooch fees for running websites for tennis organizations. Shouldn't the organizations take competitive bids instead of allowing this kind of behavior to persist in our society?

This tournament is great for the tennis community. Everyone should give special thanks to Harry Criner for bringing this tournament to our community along with the support from Dr. H.A.Ted Bailey!!!!

The year that the tournament had Donald Young and Kei Nishikori in the draw was loaded with talent!

I remember that draw of young/nishikori because the top junior canadian player had just survived a fall from a hotel balcony in which he was sleep walking and almost fell to his death. A miracle that he survived the injuries!

hey guys,
bethany matek-sands boyfriend/husband was coaching artem sitak the year he won over the former arkansas razorback player. that year had the hottest chicks in the crowd with great weather causing them to turn out in droves.

Peter Polansky was the Canadian junior champion that fell out of the hotel room. His coach put an alarm on his wrist that went off if he was sleepwalking.

Talking about website operators....
most don't want their clients to know that they can "do-it-yourself" thru register.com , go-daddy.com and others with a user-friendly template to follow. DIY is the only way to operate a website at a very low cost.

Surely everyone knows you can easily build your own website? This is common knowledge. I know professional website builders who build sites for tv stations and the like and are well paid and deservedly so. A simple site like the one for this tournament however is completely different.

My 13y/o son recently built a website with no help and it's incredible. The cost was very minimal and I do monitor it of course but there has been no trouble. I'm sure the ATA wouldn't allow for unnecessary extra spending and is watching their budget.

Also--Thanks to those who left memories of past tournaments and the history!
I'm sure I'm with most players in AR and having started playing only a few years back am just learning about the people and how all works. It's delightful to get first-hand information of the past! I look forward to making more of my own memories!
Thanks again posters and also a big thanks to Harry!! (I don't know him from Adam but am thankful we have people like him involved!)

Ditto about the comment about Tanguay and website operators!!!
Most people don't know that Tanguay and other website operators pay Go-Daddy to do the website operating for them.
It makes sense (and cents) to go directly to Go-Daddy or Register.com and cut out the middleman which is all Pete Tanguay and other website operators are.......

Guys, y'all are right-on when talking about website scammers! I have played D-I tennis and a few pro tourneys in the South and have never heard of this Tanguay dude. Looked him up and found that Harold Henderson helped him mooch ATA funds for a Faulkner County Tennis Association. The fog is starting to lift where we can see more clearly about the Pfeiffer-Henderson-Tanguay connection. Anyone with other info about this connection should let all other bloggers know more about this situation.....

Watched some of the qualifying matches this weekend and lots of talented players. Fun to watch and a learning experience too. Reinforced things I know I need to do while playing and also the fact I'll be a local club player for my "career."

Hey guys,
the website scammer named tanguay operates as rock-pond company. i don't know all the specifics but i think that is the business name he uses for charging clients fees for operating their websites that they could easily do it themself.

It is good to see the Razorback player, Blake Strode have a nice tournament!

Talking about website operators, I know a good reputable one who is also a very good tennis player by the name of Brit Loyd. If anyone out there wants more info, I will post his business info!!!

Web International, Inc. is the business that Britt Loyd runs. One of the most reputable website operators and an excellent tennis player, too. Web Int'l. is locally owned and managed on top of that

The phone number for Web Int'l is 501-372-0393 if you need to get a hold of Britt, a great guy to work with you.

Guys,
You crack me up how posts transition from tennis to web design. i always knew you had a very educated following but this takes the cake! Do-It-Yourself Website Design thru Go-Daddy.com etal is a popular way to save money on your own website. If you don't want to DIY, then Loyd's Web Int'l is the most reputable web designer in central arkansas.

isn't the henderson involved with tanguay over funneling monies to white-washed tennis programs in their community the same henderson that got busted out on this blog over allowing his influence in letting a D-I player play as a 3.5 player? No wonder the tennis in their community is messed up with these two hucksters involved!

I heard that tanguay/henderson are also helping some minority tennis-teaching gal with to find handout monies to provide white-washed programs, too!
