Maxwell Mendelsohn and Tiffany Tang Voted Arkansas Junior Tennis Players of the Year by Central Arkansas Tennis Talk

The final votes have been cast by the readers of Central Arkansas Tennis Talk, and the winners of the 2010 Arkansas Junior Tennis Player of the Year Award are Tiffany Tang of Rogers and Maxwell Mendelsohn of Little Rock.

Freshman Tiffany Tang (pictured right), class of 2014 at Rogers High School, won the Arkansas Overall Girl's High School Tennis Championships at 14 years old. Tiffany, who has been playing tennis since she was 4 and started playing competitive tennis six years ago, went undefeated in taking the Overall title and the Girl's 7A Conference High School title. Tiffany also reached #15 in the Southern Girl's 14s rankings.

Maxwell Mendelsohn of Little Rock(pictured lower right), only a 6th Grader at Pulaski Academy, was a giant slayer in 2010. Mighty Max reached #10 in the Southern Sectional tennis rankings in the Boy's 12s division. In Arkansas competition, Max, at the age of 11 years old , took on the daunting task of playing in the Boy's 16s division of the Otter Creek Junior Spring Tennis Tournament.
Not even a teen yet, Max dominated the Boy's 16s by sweeping the title with straight set victories over Drew Dodge of Conway (Round of 16) 6-4, 6-3, Bobby Emerson of Little Rock (Quarterfinals) 6-3, 6-1, Brandon Williams of Little Rock (Semi-Finals) 6-4, 6-2, and Grayson Greer of Little Rock (Finals) 6-2, 6-1. This sheer dominance of an Arkansas Boy's 16 & under event by an 11 year old had to be one of the most impressive feats of the 2010 year.

The Max story about him taking down the 16 yr olds is an unbelievable one! Those high schoolers, Bobby Emerson, Drew Dodge, Grayson Greer, and Brandon Williams that lost to Max must have been embarrassed losing to an elementary student.

Hey guys,
I think Max stole the high-schoolers' girlfriends when they showed up to watch their boyfriends get spanked by a 6th grader!

Max Mendelsohn could have won the Arkansas High School 2A Conference Championship over any contenders from Union Christian Academy, Murfreesboro, or Conway Christian Academy after looking over these results.

Dudes,
The story I heard about Max putting a beat down on the high schoolers was that the tournament was in the spring. That would make Max a 5th grader when he won the Boy's 16s at Otter Creek over Dodge,Emerson,Williams,&Greer!!!

this has to be the most hilarious story for 2010. a 5th grader putting a whooping on the high school students- drew dodge, bobby emerson, grayson greer, and brandon williams is awesome tennis tidbit for the tennis community.

the ark high school 2A conference must be a very weak conference if a 5th grader could have won it.

A friend told me about "Mighty Max" and I had to check it out. Wow!! Notice the scores and how his confidence only grew as he went along to the point of losing only 3 games in the final! Incredible and warming story! What a ki.....I mean MAN! Mighty Max the Motivated Man! I'm sure we will see lots more of this fearless one! His motivation and drive should rub off on all of us. Great story.....and award undoubtedly deserved by Max and no other. He set the bar high! Great job Max and TennisTalk!

Tiffany Tang might be the next great player since Kaitlin Ray who i think signed with UCLA. Tang is a 5-star recruit and has a record of 5-2 vs Blue-Chip athletes.

Dudes,
People are finding out about the quality of your tennis articles. A new reader told someone that they checked out all your links that you use to verify your stories. It blew their mind how truthful your stories were. A former board member of several organizations and businesses said so too! A prominent family said that boards are divisive behind each others back but they have to act so friendly in front of each other. It is only when something drastic happens that they right the ship. The rumblings about the citizens of NLR taking over Burns Park will right the ship fast but it might be too late for the ATA if the citizens go thru with it! I hear it happen swiftly with documents being filed soon.

I just now came across this blog. It's terrific! This story is the best! Max the MAN must be one amazing tennis player! I bet when he whipped up on the older boys they were pretty humbled. They should thank him though because playing a better player only makes you better! I doubt they liked it that they got beat by an 11 yr old though! ......an eleven year old who already has hair on his chest! Go Max!
