Max Mendelsohn and Tatum Brooke Rice Voted Arkansas Junior Tennis Players of the Year

The final votes have been cast by the readers of Central Arkansas Tennis Talk, and the winners of the 2013 Arkansas Junior Tennis Player of the Year Award are Maxwell Mendelsohn of Little Rock and Tatum Brooke Rice of Hot Springs.

Max Mendelsohn (pictured right), is currently the highest ranked Arkansas junior boy in the National and Southern Section of the USTA. Mendelsohn reached as high as #4 in the Southern rankings in the Boy's 14s division and #2 in the National rankings. Mendelsohn was a finalist in the USTA Boy's 14 Championships with a semifinal win over the #3 ranked player, semifinalist in the National Clay Court Championships, semifinalist in the Southern Junior Closed Championships, and considered a Blue-Chip College recruit. He is also the 1st two-time winner of this award.

Tatum Brooke Rice of Hot Springs is currently the highest ranked Arkansas junior girl in the National and Southern Section of the USTA. Rice reached #6 in the Southern rankings in the Girl's 14s division and #52 in the USTA National rankings. Rice was a singles semifinalist & doubles winner in the Southern Junior Closed Championships and a singles quarterfinalist & doubles winner of the USTA National Open Championships.
